Build the Book. Section by Section.
The structured outline engine from the original sheet system, rebuilt with the editorial discipline from the Book Builder's Prompt Guide. Voice brief on every call. Arguments instead of topics. No em dashes. No AI vocabulary. Export a publish-ready manuscript.
API Connection
Paste a key from Anthropic or OpenAI. The app reads the key's prefix, picks the right provider, and shows the model options available for that provider. Keys stay in this browser tab's memory only, never written to disk, never included in saved project files. Inside a Claude.ai preview, Claude runs with no key.
Book Concept & Positioning
Do not move past this stage until topic, reader, and argument each fit in a single sentence. Everything downstream is generated against these three answers.
Voice Brief
Applied as a prefix to every generation call in the system. This is what separates this build from the original sheet output. Hard rules are always enforced: no em dashes, no first person plural, no AI vocabulary patterns.
Title & Subtitle
Ten candidates judged on thumbnail performance, category signal, and how much work the subtitle is doing. Pick one, edit it, or write your own below.
The Outline Is an Argument
Same chapter schema as the original sheet system — Big Idea, Key Lessons, Framework, Story, Section Breakdown, Actionable Insights — with two upgrades: every heading is written as an argument, not a topic, and the generator is instructed to keep zero overlap between lessons and sections.
Draft the Manuscript
Each chapter is written as one continuous argument. Every section call carries the voice brief, the chapter's single argument, and the tail of the previous section so prose flows instead of restarting. No section opens with a throat-clear or closes with "in conclusion." The final section bridges into the next chapter.
Editorial Passes
Each pass runs across the entire drafted manuscript, not chapter by chapter. The voice scrub and line edit rewrite every section in place, end to end. The repetition check reads the full book in one pass so cross-chapter repetition is actually catchable. The final check sweeps the whole manuscript for anything the earlier passes missed.
Flags
Front & Back Matter
Written last, after the book knows what it says. The preface comes from your raw notes. The about page only uses facts you list — nothing invented. The checklist appendix compresses the framework into a one-page reference.
